Tracking and analyzing the performance of your marketing campaigns is essential for making data-driven decisions. One of the most effective ways to do this is by adding UTM (Urchin Tracking Module) parameters to your short links. These parameters help you track where your traffic is coming from, which campaigns are performing well, and how users are interacting with your content.
In this guide, we’ll walk you through the process of adding UTM parameters to a short link using the CutMe Short platform.
What Are UTM Parameters?
UTM parameters are tags that you add to a URL, allowing you to track the effectiveness of your online marketing campaigns in Google Analytics or other analytics tools. These parameters include:
utm_source: Identifies the source of traffic (e.g., Facebook, Newsletter, Google).
utm_medium: Specifies the marketing medium (e.g., Email, CPC, Social).
utm_campaign: Names the campaign (e.g., Spring_Sale, Product_Launch).
utm_term: (Optional) Tracks keywords in paid search campaigns.
utm_content: (Optional) Differentiates ads or links pointing to the same URL.
